Biography

Hi there, I'm Nick, a freelance photographer from Perth, Western Australia. My love for photography began when I wanted to document my surf trips and capture the beauty of the ocean. I went on to study photography and graphic design at Curtin University, which helped me to develop my skills and shape my unique style.

What inspires me about photography is its ability to shape society's ideas, influence people, and change how we view material items. I believe that every photograph has the power to tell a story and evoke emotions, and I strive to create images that are not only visually stunning but also meaningful and impactful.

​

In addition to my work as a photographer, I am also the founder of Pitched Industries, a platform that features interviews with successful creatives from a variety of industries. Through the Pitched Industries Podcast, I've had the opportunity to chat with photographers, designers, and other creatives about their careers, creative process, and advice for aspiring artists. It's been a fantastic experience to connect with so many talented and inspiring individuals and share their stories with our audience.

After years of focusing on documenting my adventures and travels, I have shifted my focus to portraiture and using studio strobes. I am passionate about capturing the essence of my subjects and creating images that reflect their unique personalities and stories.

​

Some of my awards include winning the Monster Children Photo Comp Student category in 2015, being a finalist in the Monster Children Photo Comp Lifestyle category in 2016 and a finalist in the Monster Children Photo Comp Student category in 2017. In 2020, I was honored to receive the Surf Visuals | Surf Photographer Of The Year award.

In my free time, I enjoy collecting and restoring vintage hifi and, of course, surfing.

​

My work has been featured in publications such as Monster Children, Stab Magazine, The Surfers Journal, Movement Magazine, Zig Zag, Bodyboarder Magazine, Surfer Magazine, and Always Another Country.
